The wait is finally over, with that said let me get to it. First off, I have no affiliation with MMD and my views are solely based on my personal experience. As you can tell by the photos the gear is dirty and used, these are not glamor shots pimping fancy gear.
The fit and finish is second to none, the quality of material is top notch, the craftsmanship that goes into making them is way above some mass produced, cheap ass foreign crap. MMD's gear is handmade right here in the US of A by one of our very own US Veterans.
Here's a shot of the belt with what I carry on my MD trips. The belt includes a booty bag, digger sheath, pointer holder and inside of the belt is lined with velcro, and all the accessories have velcro inside the belt loops which prevent them from wondering all over the belt, where you put it, it stays.
IMG_0092_zps5da2a966.jpg
The "Booty Bag" has a mesh bottom, an inner zipped pocket, outer zipped pocket, both mesh lined as well, the inner pocket is perfect for smaller finds such as coin, buttons, etc. What I really like about the mesh is I didnt have to come home and dump a yard of dirt out of my finds bag, the small stuff filters through the mesh nicely. The Pointer holder grabs ahold of the pointer and keeps it securely in place, with the added length the sheath keeps dirt and grim off your pants or leg. The pointer fit my Minelab ProFind rather tight, enough when I slipped it in it actually turned the unit on, what I did was place the pointer in the sheath handle first, to loosen up the grip a bit and I never had a problem with it turning on after that, it just needed a lil breaking in.
IMG_0082_zps04dfaad6.jpg
The digger sheath is hard core heavy duty, its double and triple stitched in areas, and the bottom of the sheath has an small opening to allow the dirt to filter out the bottom so it wont get all packed & caked up with crud. Theres a nice velcro sealed pocket in the front, for me I pack it with a 9V pointer batt and 4 AA's for the AT Pro.

The belt buckle, enough said.

Heres a few shots of the AT Pro cover and sun screen, it fits very well and the sun screen provides a nice little shade and cuts back glare. Note the photo was taken in direct sunlight so the sunshade and screen were viewable, when I was swinging the ATP today the glare was minimal off the thick poly screen protector, even with the screen protector the buttons were easily accessible.

I have a phone case being made now, its custom for my iPhone5 and will match the AOR2 and attach the belt as well.

If you're in a hurry, impatient and a need it now kind of guy, then Milspec Metal Detecting Gear is not for you, these items are handmade one at a time by a partially disabled vet, he makes them to order, size, color and style and will go above and beyond to make a high quality product to last for years to come. If the MMD gear is something that interests you, tell him you saw the review on TreasureNet and Im sure he'll be more then happy to put together a nice little package

Very cool! Can he make a MOLLE attachment for the Garrett Digger tool in ACU camo? I have been looking for something to carry this tool on my battle belt. I really want a MOLLE attachment for this tool!

I'm interested in one for a Fiskar knife/digger with same pattern and for a Molle vest. How about a couple covers for a T2 as well (doesn't have to be in camo)? Looks well made!!

Nice gear and review! My' Minelab Explorer II and two of it's coils were used to train Military Personnel to clear Mines, it was also used in Iraq for just that purpose and shows it. Hell, I believe that when I got it and the coils, it still had Iraqi sand stuck in some areas. That is the reason why I purchased it and two more just like it as they were all tried, tested and true! Although I wish I could have kept all three, financial difficulties forced me to sell two of them.

Looks good, but you are going to have to get new gear. Digital camo was dropped by the armed forces, so it went out of style. Frank...

Yea it's high end stuff thats no doubt, but Im not military so my need for the latest and greatest camo pattern isn't a necessity, and you dont have to do a camo pattern, theres colors to choose from, I liked all the patterns but when I spoke with Van he had most of the items already made up, so my wait time wasn't as long as some may have.

Ironman the case arrived today, the original was supposedly lost in shipment, so after 4 weeks Van decided to overnight me one. Heres the pix. If you're not in a hurry to get your gear it may be worth the wait.

Its real nice, I have an OtterBox Defender case on my iPhone5 and it slides in and out effortlessly, made with the high quality standards as the rest of his gear. My only issue with Milspec is the lack of communication, and having absolutely no idea when your gear is going to arrive.

I have heard that a lot but with my experience with Van and the milspec company I will give them as many referral customers as I can. My experience is 110% positive. I know he had some guys working with/for him in the past and he had to take back over due to lack of communication with customers and such. He's a true American craftsman, and I have full faith in his gear. Im not a very active member on this forum but I have the identical username on friendly metal detecting forum, with over 1,200 posts, and I put my gear through HELL. But I buy only the best, and like to protect my gear as best as possible.
My milspec order shipped the morning after I paid for it. The only thing he had ready at time of payment was the booty bag, and had to sew up the belt and sheath, so this man works FAST! I had some concerns and questions and he took the time to call me and address all of them, and we had a enjoyable 3 hour conversation. If you like his products, ask for some photos of his custom made knives! As a knife maker myself, I can see the quality immediate!
TO sum it up, give them a chance because all the negative feedback is coming from something that was out of his control, but has been handled months ago.

I have been scouring the web for a molle attachment for the Garrett digging tool (sheath) I’m going nuts it doesn’t exist. I’ve been trying knife sheaths they are too small...time to go into business and make a molle vest for diggers!

Great fun.

But my "MilSpec" gear is 1940 British. ;-)

I sent a modern replacement Colt 1851 Navy mainspring to someone in the UK and this arrived months later. It's the buckle of my finds pouch belt.

sites gone the products were good but he would take forever to get them to you which is probably why he went out of business it's a shame they were tough covers in pouches
