Are treasure hunters gamblers too?

When my detector gives me a beep and I start to dig, I love the fact that I really don't know what it's going to be.

I get the same feeling when I buy a lottery scratch off ticket or a lotto ticket. Wondering will I have the winning numbers or nothing? Mostly nothing

Do you all buy lotto/scratch off tickets as well?

Just thought there might be a link between the two.

I play scratch offs and daily numbers in light moderation. I have a Casino 10 miles away and another 20 miles away, I just stay out of those. I have lousy luck in casinos.

Detecting isn't gambling because we don't have to pay $$ every time we dig a target. Gambling is wagering money in the vain hopes of getting more money back.
