Hey Jamey.... Gonna be tough. Was the "piece of wire" the other missing ring? It would probably be like a tough puzzle. Each piece would have to go back into its original position. And I assume the wood is all dried out. This meaning you can't swell it back up. Now if you'd just like it "back together" and not hold water then some good wood glue, pin stapler and some time would all work out. Clean ring, prime and paint and just slip back on with a few short screws. Good luck buddy!!!!!

I'ts a relatively simple procedure with rudimentary makeshift tools to reassemble a barrel .
The Foxfire books have some excellent articles on barrel and bucket making to give you a start .

thanks everyone,im going to get my camera working as soon as i can and will post some picks.my kids are going to their moms for a few days and i would like to get started on this
