Get a Wide 25 foot tape measure and fish it in there. you can attach a coat hanger claw that you can make yourself and drag it to you nearer the hole. I have retrieved more things from walls and floors with a tape measure than anything else. You can attach magnets, hooks or anything you can dream up to one. Looking forward to seeing what is in the box. Good luck.

Alright I have just communicated with my family that owns it and here's is what is going down! If I could bring the box to any hole they will be happy to drill and make the hole just an inch bigger to put my arm in there! Husband is just as excited as I am and the wife just rolls her eyes lol! I asked him and he said it could work on Saturday instead of Sunday which is better so I'm very excited and the person who guessed what it is can keep the treasure lol not really

My guess is one of those little boxes that holds a watch or bracelet, with a spring hinge to keep it shut. Since it is under a child's bed, it may have more of the child's treasure items like you've already found (baseball cards, etc), or it could be the motherload! Exciting stuff!

Kids school "pencil box" perhaps.
Jolteon... did I hear you mention the "candy wrappers" might be worth "money" ?

This would be a first I heard of it if so.
I know people collect everything... but wrappers?
maybe these folks... heh...

Have you tried hooking your thumbs in the two cut-outs and lifting to see if the panel slides up; or to either side and then up?

If you do come across a good card you'll reduce the value buy half with THE CLAW.

Not bragging... but I would have that thing opened and redone...
within a half an hour or less.
Prolly in fifteen minutes or less if no stubborn nails.

Been down this road before... heh.

If nothing else... pitch the fact that TRASH is under the BEDS... um...
That alone would make me and most I know want to CLEAN there of all places...
Don't want the kids "sleeping on trash" do ya ?
Its all in the "pitch" man. :)

OR...
How about the fact that those areas COULD become "storage"... for toys and stuff...
WHICH if I owned it... WOULD become...
And accessible area that can be cleaned... and more importantly USED.

Um.. oh one more thing I forgot to mention...
HIGH possibility that those "tile squares" are made with asbestos.
SO... be very careful if you remove top to clean...
There are several options for what to do with it...
Obviously removal is best option...
BUT... you MUST KNOW HOW !!!
good thing is they are the lighter colored tiles... IF Asbestos... Darker tiles are worse...
If they are still in good shape... they can be sealed in... by covering properly...
HIGHLY suggest you read up on this... AND inform anyone who will or would come in contact with it...

Asbestos is FOR life... and NEVER goes away in the lungs... ANND will get worse with age.
READ up.

JFYI.
