Good chance the tractor won't be there tomorrow....I'd be out there casing the place right now! Leaving a note sounds good if the tractor operator is the land owner. Could be a leasee?

You're on the right track, become a tractor stalker.
Note 50/50% chance or less you'll never get a call back, speaking right to the owner the odds go way up. The other option that seems to work well is to stop at the nearest farm and inquire if they have any idea who owns the land, 90% of the time I get the answer or even a lead out of the inquiry.

Do what ya gotta do!
A piece of land I've wanted to search now has been clear cut, plowed, and a big hold dug for a basement!

Go to the town hall. Ask who owns the property. They should have a map with the exact lot details. Call the owner. Its that simple. Done. No stalking needed.

County Assessor will have owner information for EVERY piece of land in the county. Pay them a visit if you get no
call from the note. At the very least you will learn how to look up property ownership in the County files.
