Whats up with the banner?

Hello all,

Whats up with the banner? I don't understand, along with many others what makes something get on the banner? Is it random selection or is it a vote from admin or emails from members ?

Why would a 14k Gold Ring make the banner but not a Civil war U.S Belt plate, two at that?

Can someone please explain to us how this works?

Thanks Mud, I really wasnt expecting any nominations for those, but I do realize they are quite rare for my area. I did recieve a few messages requesting I post the over all finds from my yard with some clearer pictures in one post, so im working on that now. I hope everyone enjoys my next post. Its "EVERYTHING" pulled from less than 1 half acre of land in Schyler County N.Y.
