Its been my experience since purchasing my dfx about 1 year ago that I dig more coins and they can be deeper when the ground is wet. I suspect, with my limited knowledge that moist ground is a better conductor of current than dry ground.

Only my two IH's worth.

I am still learning my DFX. I have noticed that I have a much tougher time locating Nickels when the ground is very dry. I seem to find a lot of them when the soil is more moist. For those that own a DFX or similar detector, do you have similar experiences? Thank you.

Maybe when the ground is moist you dig more signals also? When the ground is extremely dry I do find myself skipping some signals. Also I agree on the conductivity idea. We have had some very heavy rain unusual for this time of year. But the soft ground has really given me that push to get out and dig... Especially thinking the month of August is always a hot and dry month here...
