I'm a bit of a music junkie, so naturally, I like to have my earbud headphones in one of my ears while I'm digging and driving and sluicing...what do you like to listen to while you prospect? I like fast paced music that makes me stay motivated. Band-Rumble Club Song-Mother Lode this is my favorite, always listen at least once before prospecting!! Cheers! JB

That song is about a gold digging woman who is out to get what she thinks rightfully belongs to her for a little thumping in the bedroom, just ask Sir Paul mccartney about that eh.

Here's a twist to the topic...Driving to the claim, I'll scan stations to get a song I can live with all day BECAUSE, the last song I hear will be stuck in my head ALL DAY !!! Sometimes, even though I'm ready to start unloading gear, I'll wait in the truck until I get just the right tune locked in my head.

Yep... I listen to a lot of music all day at work and at home. and when im digging and scraping I always end up with just one part of some song running circles in my mind ....and not much else just the way I like it.

Don't usually listen to music while mining, although this may sound a bit cliche it never fails Heart of gold by Neal Young gets stuck in my head while mining. I do however modify the lyrics as necessary.

425jesse I Just listened to Rumble Club, Mother Lode, I like it Johnny Cash goes skater punk. Along the same lines as the eels, hillbilly casino, and the Route 66 Killers. Must be an electrician thing!

Still a great song to rock out to while your digging whatever hole your working.:headbang:

Plus it's a good double entendre, as my hands always get a little dirty pulling the au out of mother earths grasp.

band: puscifer song: "vagina mine" or/and "humbling river".

Been around far too many of those "mines" as you call them...fraught with danger, there's
a cave-in every few weeks.... and I'd swear most of 'em are haunted!

My own picks would be along the lines of vintage Led Zeppelin, Doors, Meatloaf, with a side
order of Neil Young, Neil Diamond and even a bit of Paul Potts tossed in for "culture"..

Have never listened while prospecting mostly due to not wanting to pack
along a CD player while hiking up a creek. When I do listen to music,
it's usually Classic Rock. Most days I can't make out the words in any song,
but can still hear the music OK, and I already know all the words to 99%
of the classic rock groups (grew up in the 60's/70's)......8-)

Gentlemen! Gentlemen! (And in some cases I'm using that term loosely ;) ) All time best song about mining would have to come down to one of two.

Marshal Tucker Bands' "Fire on the Mountain"

Nitty Gritty Dirt Bands' "Hand me down that can of beans. (I've had a lucky day)"

Both tell of the highs and lows of prospecting from opposite sides of the coin.

Personally I prefer to listen to the outdoors. I spend all day hearing the life of a busy city, tv, wife, kids, work, etc. When I go out this is my time and I want to enjoy what mother nature has to give. Just my two cents...

Guns and Roses Greatest Hits would keep you moving but here is a song from an album by the late folk singer Dan Fogelburg. He went to Nashville and they used America's best blue grass musicians and Dan made one bluegrass album. It was called High Country Snows. The entire album is very good.
