Mountain States Legal Foundation is submitting an Amicus brief to the California Supreme Court in support of the Rinehart Decision on behalf of the American Exploration & Mining Association.

The American Exploration & Mining Association, est. 1895, is a 2500 member non-profit, non-partisan national trade association based in Spokane. They mostly support the large mining interests.

Mountain States Legal Foundation (MSLF) is a nonprofit law firm. The Foundation "describes itself as the litigation arm of the anti-environmental wise-use movement,"and has been preeminent regarding issues of concerns to westerners, including the Endangered Species Act, the Clean Water Act, especially regarding “wetlands,” the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the National Forest Management Act, the Antiquities Act, the Multiple Use Sustained Yield Act, and the General Mining Law and bars on and restrictions regarding the ability to develop natural resources such as energy and minerals and forest and agricultural products.

With so much at stake in the outcome of Brandon's case, it is good that we have some big players coming in on our side!

OPEN TO EVERYONE! ! !

This is a reminder that The New 49'er Legal Fund is giving
away a brand new, top of the line 4-inch Proline dredge,
along with 10 American Gold Eagles, at the close of business
this next Friday, February 27.

Participation in the drawing has been pretty slow to date,
so your chances of a win are pretty good.

Because the grand prize is so valuable, we have been hoping
that you guys are going to really pitch in to make this our
best legal fund-raiser ever.

Our new Paypal link makes the whole process much simpler
than before.

You can find more details on how to participate by going
to the following:

» Four-inch Proline dredge & 20 American Gold Eagles! ? Legal Fund-raiser

It is Friday and I am feeling good! It used to be that miners were a group who know little about "Law" etc. and Government agencies made their lives pretty miserable. We have been seeing such actions progressively occurring for a number of years now. Fortunately the "informational streamline" we are experiencing has enables miners to unite utilizing "people of great knowledge": Such as here on this forum....as well as many others!

I have been awaiting the pendulum to swing to the other side....as it has been a long time coming. Fortunately the law will prevail and the rights of miners will be maintained equitably.
I am so glad to see the Mountain States Legal Fund join in the battle. This is a very good Fri. Lots of good stuff happening to protect us miners. Thanks to the many who have worked hard to "fight" the wrongs! Still lots to do....but it is going to be fun watching the Gov's wrongful sand castle crumble away. The M.E.G. places the miner in a very unique position.

We have seen a steady "anti mining" progression move from Calif to Oregon ,Idaho and now Washington State. Oregon is currently presenting legal opposition and Calif has been engaged in it for some time now.

All I can say is I am feeling good on this Fri. Looking forward to some legal "remedy" and a big "gotcha" to the anti crowd who have masterfully engaged the wrong group of people> "MINING COMMUNITY".

It is not over...but I believe it is the 5th inning and our home run hitters are up to bat! Thanks so much! Boy I am having a good day.

I have to agree with Bejay! This is a good day to say the very least.

Thanks to forums like T-Net miners have started to circle the wagons and fight for our rights under the laws of the land. We've shared knowledge between our community members and have become the wiser for it. Do we still have a ways to go? Of course we do! The battle is far form over, but we've now got a fresh supply of "Beans and Bullets" to work with. :headbang:

We still need to work to increase the awareness of John Q. Public and make them aware to the facts instead of the lies of the environmentalist groups that have been working against us for the last 40+ years now. We need to show them how the various agencies are overreaching their authority in many cases and ignoring the laws. Miners are only a small portion of the population that will benefit from this fight and we need to get everyone that has a stake in the use of public lands involved. Todays' closure to mining could easily be expanded to a closure to hunting, fishing or off-roading.

I have been a supporter of Mountain States for years. They have done more for small miners in this country than all the other mining organizations put together.

Western Mining Alliance,Pacific Legal Foundation, Mountain States Legal Foundation are great examples of those who help and NOT deliberately extend these atrocities against miners rights for personal gain. 94 redux going on now....and your paying them to screw you out of your rights....John
