Hello
To all that are familiar with the San Domingo gold placer area and it's history, I pose this question.

Anyone have any info on "Hackberry" or "Lavelle" washes?

According to an article written by Chas. A. Dinsmore in the Bisbee Daily Review on Sept 24, 1911 he mentions two dam sites one in the San Domingo wash which is well known and another dam site in Hackberry wash. There is even a mention of a Lavelle wash that I've never heard of before.

Looks like a lot of activity in that placer area in the last 150 years even though small scale. Maybe some of the washes had several different names over the years. Just wished I'd done a better job at picking the brains of some of the locals that I came across years ago. :dontknow:

If anyone cares to share any info on the area it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time.

Jim
