Hi all,
With spring around the corner, I'd like to arrange a group hunt for us Illinoisers. I was thinking of somewhere like either Garfield Park or Douglas Park --- a safety in #'s sort of place where we could not normally hunt alone.
I will have Silvery Treats and maybe a coppery treat. 2 door prizes 1st and 2nd place. 1st place circulated silver dollar. I don't know about second place. Then there will be a prize for whoever has the worst day, so they can at least leave happy (I judge who has the worst day -- It may or may not be based on finds, getting skunked is bad, but a broken detector, or etc. could be worse.) Don't dog it to get the prize cuz if I think your dogging it, no booby prize for you.
Please reply with suggested parks/ideas. It will be a Saturday morning. I am hoping one of the last couple of weekends of March if weather looks like it will cooperate.

Also, It'd be really cool if it were a date that snowskate could make the drive up and meet some of us. Especially if Mr. Senior came, it'd be worth his drive. Skate, if you don't want to drive the city, I'm in the south burbs you could drive up to my place, and ride up with me.

As time gets closer, I'll post the prizes and date. PM me and I'll let all you all know the where.

I should mention that there is a dress code. I think Kimsdad's attire might pass, but I don't want to see any exposed mid-sections, so sorry L4S, you need to dress like you used to.

I would love to come meet and hunt with you all, so I'm in for sure. It would be cool to catch a ride part of the way up too. My car has a mystery coolant leak that I suspect is a failing head gasket :help: Hopefully I can get rid of it before it blows up.

I'm definitely ready to find some treats, especially the silvery kind. Just got invited to detect a yard today that was probably built around the 1920s. I'm hopin for at least a merc.

Sounds good, who's gonna be carrying? Or should we just allow the PD to escort us through the grounds?
