Did you ask for the coin to be conserved? If sent into NCS for authentication and a detail grade they would not have "cleaned" the coin.

I requested conservation, which anyone know is neutralizing the verdigris on coins of this type, NOT REMOVING TO BARE METAL!!! Then after they destroyed it they sent it to NGC even knowing they would bodybag it!!! THEY SAID THEY WOULD REFUND THE CONSERVATION FEE!! LOST PRETTY MUCH MOST OF IT"S VALUE!!! THEY LIE ABOUT THEIR WARRANTIES !!!

Re: 1877 Indian head ready to be sent in UPDATE !!! NCS KILLS THE CHEIF!!

Hey Ray, sorry about that bad experience.

Is that ground scar to the right of the "E" in "ONE" still visible on the "after" pic?

Also the "C" in "CENT" looks more pitted than it should have been after the "preservation" was done.

Or am I getting the before/after pics confused?

Here's to your next one, may it come out of the ground bright red and clean!
