Duck and Dodge EE.....Thank you for addmitting that no LRL or MFD has ever failed a Sceintfic Test...Art

Shame, shame, Art---even you know better than that. What about the Department of Justice report, for one, in which it is documented that LRLs were Scientifically tested by reputable organizations, and found to not be able to locate anything at all?

Jeez, Art, do you never stop trying to mislead people with your knowingly false statements?

Yes there was a warning about LRL’s in the middle of a report on how to use a Expray Explosive Test Kit...It was a very long thread that was discussed right here. There were no reports of any Scientifically tests by reputable organizations included in it.
So tell us who is trying to mislead people on a Treasure Hunting discussion board?..Art

You mean the "Institute of Justice", a skeptic group, not the Department of Justice.

Then there was the LRL manufacturer sued by the country of Iraq after they were duped into buying some garbage LRL the company said could find landmines and IEDs. Yep, gotta love it when the greed of LRL scammers trumps human life!

That also has been discussed...We got a little tired of being called murderers. It seems that the skeptics don’t want to discuss LRL’s made for the Treasure Hunting Hobby..Art

LRLs are LRLs whether they are sold for finding gold or landmines. If you don't like the smell, don't sell the garbage.

For example, compare the Thomas Gravitator with the DKL. Evidently the same thing but sold into different markets. The character of the advertising is also different, not just the actual content. All this reveals what the things really are and what Thomas believes about the people who stand a chance of buying them.

Gravitator ad is a beautiful piece of "truth in advertising" the purpose of which is to force the gullibilly into denial. For starters, the name itself describes what the thing literally is: it's a gravitator. It does not detect targets of any type. If you buy the thing believing that it detects treasure, that's only because that's what you wanted it to be, the ad did not tell you that. Sucker!

The DKL is positioned very differently in adspace. Aimed at marks who may a bit naive and who aren't real critical thinkers. But not aimed at people who already know it's a scam but who want to pretend it's not a scam, such as in the treasure hunting market.

I would think that most of the membership Is interested in treasure hunting devices. And yes..I hope that they arrest the people who stole the electronics from some of devices before they reached the soldiers...Art.

They didn't steal **** from any LRL junk! You deserve to rot in hell for even suggesting that LRLs are appropriate for explosive ordinance detection.

I don't know how many lives they saved with the LRL's but I think it was several hundred vehicles they detected with explosives.

detected when the explosives detonated.
I have never used a LRL designed for finding explosives nor will I ever. I have read a lot of success stories about them..I may rot in hell but not because of recommending any explosive device...Art

I would not use an LRL for bomb detection, either. That's not to say they don't work, just I would not want to depend on one as the only defense. Human operators make mistakes, be it an LRL or a metal detector. But then again, dogs miss targets, too. You never hear anyone complain about that.

The problem with LRL's as bomb detectors is that not only does the outcome depend entirely on what's going on between operator's ears, the operator has been lied to and told that the outcome is the product of technological sensing technology. So the result is inevitably worse than plain vanilla dowsing, which itself is surrounded by a well-earned cloud of suspicion.

That makes LRL's a very different thing from technology based sensing apparatus, which can be demonstrated to work without dependence on belief and which is not based on fraud like LRL's are. And it makes LRL's a very different thing from dowsing.

If anyone wants to know how LRL apologists think when it comes to the assertion that the damn things have cost many lives, all you have to do is look several posts up at Signal's "several hundred vehicles" post. Think about it. If God gave you brains, use 'em. Read the advertisement.

It ain't just hypothetical here in El Paso. The Mexican military has been using Deekles, which of course has caused a lot of controversy. The Mexican military has no credibility to begin with, so Deekles are a good fit for them. "The Deekle indicated that this vehicle was carrying drugs (guns, whatever)". So they "search", plant whatever "evidence" is needed, do a parade in front of television cameras, and it all works out great for them. What makes the Deekle a perfect fit for the Mexican military is not that it detects anything, but that it gives them what they want. It's a perfect match for a corrupt system.

No military or police agency that exists for the purpose of public service and which knows what the Deekle really is, wants anything to do with it. The damn thing is a fraud, and it does not give them what they want. Let's be frank here, if cops in your neighborhood were using Deekles, you'd know who the things would point at first just by eyeballing skin color, wouldn't you? Fraud, corruption, and tyranny go hand in glove and LRL's sold to government agencies are a perfect example of how that works.
