Being new to the hobby i have no idea what was going on with my detector. I was scanning on an old logging road and the QUICK SILVER started beebing like crazy. All the different tones were going off, I would swing one way and get an iron reading swing the opposite direction and get a coin reading. I dug around and found nothing. I thought my batteries were getting low even though my low bat. light was not on. changed the batteries, still the same deal. can some one tell me why u can recieve to diff. types of readings over the same spot when there is nothing there? i dug down about 18" with no recovery. :dontknow:

thanks.

My guess the the ground balance was not set or it could be minerals in the soils setting it off.
try rebalancing it.

Try turning the sensitivity down. Usualy works for me. Make sure you are not under power lines as well. Hope this helps.

For sure. Tweek your sensitivity down a little. Some times that works swell.
