No. Just read up on all the different detectors. If that existed then all the others wouldn't.

Well actually there is one! That's exactly what a GPR does. That is shows density at various dept, but they are pricy and the learning curve is long. Frank five star.png

Haha. Well "density" still isn't going to tell you what type metal it is.

Nokta Golden King claims to be able to identify metals including gold. Give accurate depth and a 3d image of target and size. They are pricey.

Yes the Gold King does make that claim. I have seen comments about it both pro and con so the proof is still blowing in the wind. There are also detectors sold by Accurate locators that make similar claims. This type of detector goes for $3K+. I would only spend that much if I had the world's hottest lead, lol. No, they do NOT. tell one metal (aluminum ) apart from another (gold). All that any metal detector can do is tell conductivity . And unfortunately , various metals shares conductivities . Sheesk, if some folks are going to swoon and wax romantic with advertising. claims , why not just go get one of those Whites , that. "tells you what's in the ground before you dig it " ? haha

And as far as showing 3d shape: The problem is pixel size . The utmost smallest pixel is about 1" across . Hence all coin-sized objects (nails , rings , tabs , foil wads , etc....) will all be .... doh ... 1 pixel !

Even things you might THINK. would have a revealing shape (like a horse shoe ), is nothing more than a messy blotch of pixels .
