Hi,

I need a bolt for my xterra and I am having a brutal time trying to find one. Minelab said... "The bolt is a standard ¼ x 20 x 2.5 to 3.inch bolt that is readily available at most hardware stores and something I would always suggest that you carry as a spare."

I wish they were right. I've been to Home Depot, CDN Tire, Kent's and all of the other mom and pop hardware shops in town and I cannot for the life of me find a plastic bolt anywhere. The standard bolt I had from my standard coil was not long enough, and I ended up losing it as it wasn't locked. I currently have it jimmy-rigged with a twig.

Help please.

If someone can send me one I'll return the favor with New Brunswick Maple Syrup. :)

As someone else mentioned, they usually have this same size as a replacement toilet seat bolt. Some are bigger though so be sure to pick the correct one.

Yes, some toilet bolts, if not all are 5/16ths. Some are plastic, most are brass. But as said before, they (Nylon bolts) are found in the nuts and bolts area. In the little cardboard drawers, where all the weird stuff is located.

The bolt works great. :)

Now I know to look into the plumbing section if this happens again. But, an exchange like this is worth it. lol

I know if I ever travel to visit Uncle Frank in New York, PA is a train ride away... (And I know Jeffs weakness now.)

>:D Take me to your best site
