So I just read a post where some guy says the Excal won't give as good performance in fresh water as it will in salt water because he says the Fisher CZ and the Excal are locked in salt mode and won't give the same deep seeking performance they do in salt water. I mostly hunt fresh water beaches so will my Excal not give the true depth it's capable of in fresh water?? Would it give the same as a Beach Hunter ID or a Fisher CZ in fresh water??

It works just as good in fresh water. I have used mine in lakes and springs...

Thanks TH! Reply from you...I have no doubt now that the Excal is just as capable in fresh as salt.

I agree, it will work fine in fresh water too. Hunt in pin point for max depth.
