Was a total of about two hours today at same old beach, tried something new and took sensitivity off auto +3 and put on manual at around 25 , and in auto I could not hear most of these finds today, but in manual I had a nice clear signal, seems in auto I never had anything deeper that 6 or 7 inches , but in manual I pulled most of these at 10", so looks like I will be hunting in manual from now on as I would have missed these today!

I noticed the same thing after a few times out. I also started to manually ground balance . That also made a big difference. I like to run a little hot get a little more depth. Did the same with my explorer. Good luck and keep digging.

I could not beleive the added depth I got from running manual ! Like I said I would have totally missed most if these silvers today if it were left in auto ,, I also noticed I never seen anything deeper that 6 or 7" on the ctx depth gauge , but now iam seeing 10" 11" 12" targets , are other guys ctx the same?

Mine is.. I don't run under 26... I also run long tones to distinguish between a false and a target..

I've wondered about long tones can you explain how it would help with false signals?

False signals will sound the same as always just short choppy tones.. A target will have a long tone even at depth.. Investigate shorter long tone, go slow as it may be a dime or small target..

Ok I will play around with that long tone tommorow, plan on going back to se place if the swelling in my knee goes down. All I can say is thank god for pain meds! Can't wait to get this fixed!

Know what your saying.. I need one, but they are not sure if it can be done.. Most of my tibia is a graft from my pelvic bone.. Wasn't anything to put back together.. So they don't know if it will shatter.. Hang in there and don't let the pain meds get the better of you...

Ya cosmic inhad a total knee replacement done about 14 years ago , and damn thing has worn out and came loose ,!! So now they need to go in and pull out loos part and re glue it back to the bone and then put a new Teflon cartilage back in, pain is just Terrable and very unstable when I walk, that's how come I can only hunt maybe 45 minutes at a time then time to rest. Ive only used my CTX a half dozen times or so (made some killer finds already though) and noticed how much difference it made moving the sens just a couple clicks. I use the smooth setting (had used the long setting with my SE pro) and realized how much better it is for guessing the shape of an item. It really does give a lot of info about the target. Cant wait for next years season so I can hunker down on some really old sites.

Thanx ,,, but my second total knee replacement surgery is comming up , doc said maybe end of June early July , said will be a tuff surgery cause it's my second one and getting old replacement out after being glued in and bone growth after 14 years will be challenging , will require bone grafts and other stuff . Terrable pain now but I can imagine the pain afterwards !!! Wish i can jump ahead bout two months , so for now my hunts are short and few , hopefully after recovery I'll be able to walk for a couple hours ???!!!! Going to be a rough few months for me and my daughters , I need a live in maid/nurse wearing a tiny outfit to help out , like sponge baths lol
