I went to a a spot that I had luck before with some Canadian large cents, silver ring and a 1918 Canadian ten cent. I could tell it was a field in the past but had trees now but was still detectable in most spots. I went close to a bigger tree trunk and got a good hit and pulled out a newfoundland five cent and was very happy because that was my first silver five cent ever. I checked my hole again and got another hit and found two more. Then did the same again and again until it got quiet. In the end I got a total of 26 silver five cent pieces.
24 newfoundland five cent & 2 Canadian five cent
I think whoever buried them was doing it for the silver because they were mostly all from the 1940's and canada was using nickel for five cents and it was around the time of wwii. I think they were in a little wood box that long rotted away because the only thing with the coins was a rusted little latch.

I never found a five cent silver before that so it was nice to catch up to all my other silver coins in a single hole! (:
