Mysterious FEMA Trailers?

The curiosity was getting to me. What were these mysterious looking fifth-wheel camper trailers, with no windows or wheels, doing in the rail yard. Why were they shipped in and being off loaded here?

And what were those rocket nose cone or air lock looking things?

Scroll down for the answer. I don't know where they're headed, but I would guess they're going to the mountains east of me.

Expensive indeed, and very large.

Thanks for the link mojaxx, I did see "nacelle" on a label stuck on the side of the "trailer".

These could be headed somewhere else, but a wind project on the east side of the state has been discussed for some time, I just didn't think it was this far along.

You know what's really sad,all this windmill stuff is all made either in Mexico or overseas,but at least it's built here.

Same thing I thought the moment I saw China on the tag. Many jobs could have created or saved if we had produced those.

Our GE plant is long gone, the site now bears an Arab logo.

They are the motor part of the giant windmills and weigh about 55,000 lbs. They are made in China for GE. Many of those come out of GE Pensacola, Fl.
