Loggerhead Turtle Hatchlings Emerge!

Tuesday I caught sharks feeding near the shore and today, hatchlings emerging from their sand nest making a beeline for the surf!

Thanks everyone, it was really something to see in person as opposed to a tv show. Yes Donovan, they just came out of the sand and went right to the water, in and out of foot prints, over sea weed, over small stones -they just kept going on their mission to get to the ocean. I hear that witnessing this is not a common event, some people wait on the beach for hours hoping to catch the mother laying her eggs or the babies hatching, so I feel very lucky to have caught it.

Here is a another link I put up, this is the trek of one baby loggerhead making its way all the way to the ocean. Its under 2 minutes.
