The Racetrack in Death Valley is truly one of natures great mysteries and one that should be included on your " Bucket list " . Driving on wash board for almost 30 miles and feeling certain your fillings or perhaps your teeth are going to fall out . You will finally reach a large desert playa ( dry desert lake bed ) this is the " Racetrack " . The " Racetrack " is known world wide as the place were " rocks move by themselves " . The ideas are many as to why they would do this . They range from aliens from outer space to microscope creatures that only come out under certain conditions . Although many studies have been conducted none has been conclusive . The popular scientific belief is that it is a combination of several deferent natural events . Rain , wind and perhaps seismic activity . At any rate it is a great place to visit and let your imagination run wild ! Thanks a heap for coming along ! Hope you had a good time ! Hoss

It looks as if it's completely devoid of color, but a totally cool place to visit! Thanks for sharing..another addition to the bucket list, for sure!

curious, have seen these on TV before. Have the tracks been measured and has it been determined their rate of travel? Or does it mysteriously happen in sudden bursts? Thanx for the pics.
