They introduced these large Canadian Geese to this area along the river and everyone thought it was a really cool idea.Since them they have become some what of a problem with the messes they leave.Lots of people love feeding them and the kids just love them so I guess one thing off sets the other. The guy in this picture was feeding them in the middle of the road. Would have been a better idea to do this off the road. Thanks for taking a look.

They sure are. They have tried to catch them and remove them,but they come right back.

They will keep coming back because people feed them.And they will start bringing more friends and making bigger messes.
I am not by any stretch a person that believes in cruelty to animals ,but in the state parks around here they are getting to be a nusince.You cant take a walk without getting goose poo all over your shoes and try fishing from the bank when there have been about 200 or so walking around for a week.......

you don't need a crossing guard, all you need is a train horn on your vehicle! it's fun to scare annoying animals with them(and some unsuspecting people too).

Just keep feeding them and maybe they'll stay away from the golf courses...nothing like trying to putt around goose poop!

Canadian geese have become a huge problem around here. they used to only migrate through the area in the spring and fall, but now, due to people feeding them, they stay year round. their droppings foul the local streams and ponds, killing fish and causing bacteria in the water, and they make a terrible mess wherever they choose to brood at night. the droppings also leech into the soil and eventually into our drinking water. there is no hunting season in place for them since they are not native to here, and there are no natural predators. now they breed and raise their young here as well and the population is EXPLODING! of course the soccer moms and yuppies that feed them don't understand that they are upsetting the natural balance of things, so they fight tooth and nail for their right to feed the cute birdies. i can ony imagine what their impact will be in ten years time.

They have tried everything one could think of to thin them out,but as Long as people feed them it willcontinue to exist. This year they rounded then up while the young ones couldn't fly and moved them about 40 miles away. it wasn't long and the whole bunch was back.They have sprayed them with grape juice,for some reason that's suppose to mess them up. it didn't work. They are now considering a law to ban feeding them in certain areas. Here's some that went beyond the city limits and never returned

they really need to put a hunting season in place around here to try to thin them out a little. they used to be welcome visitors two times a year but now they are just a pest.
