I've been curious about detecting for a long time now, but never took the time to really check it out. I don't have any equipment yet, but I hope to start sometime this summer. I see people on the beaches around here all the time, so that's probably where I'll start. But I'm really interested in finding relics from old homesteads or battles. I wouldn't even care if I had to turn them over to someone else. Just finding them would be a thrill.
