I live in Yate which is near the Cotswolds. The Cotswolds is a ridge escarpment in the South West of the UK.
I detect the small village of 'Old Sodbury." The village dates back to the Iron Age (1200 BC).

The oldest metal object I've found is a coin dating to 1247AD :

Welcome. I've thought of flying across the pond and detecting, however, I'm finding stuff here. Oldest coin I have found was in South Carolina at an old mansion. Byzantine from the 6th Century AD. Some Roman coins were also found. All we could figure is the old homeowner was a coin collection way back.
