I posted in the what is it part of the forums to try and find out what this is. Everyone had great suggestions but I'm still unsure what it is and who made it and was hoping someone in here could help. It's made out of clay and was found about 30 yrs ago in the northeastern part of Louisiana along the Mississippi River. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Definitely does not look Native American to me.

Looks Mesoamerican wearing ear spools. Doesn't really look ancient as such, I think it's modern, with a head like the small ceramic heads found around Mexico City and available to collectors. I can also envision motifs from the Mississippian Mound Builders, but in either event, I believe it's a modern reproduction and not ancient. JMO, and based on its' appearance.

I agree.. fairly modern Aztec inspired. Or south American.
