Our Pottery Sherd State Collection updated 9/5

Earlier this year my wife and I decided we wanted to collect pottery sherds from other states. We have about a dozen personal finds from here in central IL. We were able to obtain MO and ND at the Collinsville show. Then we turned to the internet, and through the amazing generosity of fellow headhunters, our collection has grown rapidly. We are making our own cases and so far have fourteen cases done.
We have 25 States so far,
IL, MO, ND, KS,MN, PA, NY, NJ, SC, GA, MS, OH, KY, IN, LA,CO,NV, UT,
NM and MEXICO, we need a few more from AR, AL, VA, NE, IA, FL.

This is really cool, according to your map you got some from Montana, would you be willing to post them? I would love to see them. I have never seen any pottery from Mt, even tho I live here!

We only have one piece from MT, it's kind plain. Smooth with no details. Thanks for looking, sixeight 1030151617-00.jpg

I couldn't imagine see pottery just littering the ground. Our IL box has 30 pieces, 29 are our personal finds and 1 from another county gifted to us. With the warm temps last weekend we were able to walk a creek and found 2 more pieces to add to the box. It's been forever since we have found any. I love all pottery!! lol sixeight IMG_3721.JPG IMG_3722 (1).JPG

2 sherds

We we able to make it out to the creek Sunday for a couple hours. It's been way to long. We each found a piece of pottery to add to the IL box. This makes 10 pieces from this little creek and a total of 31 personal found pcs. DSCF3688.JPG DSCF3689.JPG DSCF3691.JPG

Do you guys still need some more from Arkansas? If so, PM me an address. I have some fields where it just litters the ground. Nothing fancy, it mostly looks like your Alabama frame.

We received another gift for the collection. A huge Thank You to lightman for his amazing gift of almost 90 pieces personally found from AR. They all fit but need a bigger case. Thanks so very much, sixeight

Bump. Still my favorite pottery post. Hopefully you & your wife are closer to your goal by now. Incredible collection & great reference for fellow pottery fanatics! Let's hear what you still need.
