Finally got around to taking pix of my chert pieces. Also found a few more points tucked away in cups, some possible pottery, and maybe some game balls? Tell me, what do I got...

The "big'un" Hefty piece, maybe a chopper or a blank?

Some tools, all seems to have edges worked.

close up of a really cool knife? (top right)
IMG_8771.JPG IMG_8770.JPG

Scrappers? Large one is 3"x2", little one is 2"x1 1/2".

IMG_8773.JPG IMG_8775.JPG

Some more points. 3" is the longest one. Also, don't know if the one with the flat bottom was supposed to be that way or if it was broken.

IMG_8778.JPG IMG_8779.JPG

Misc. stuff; game balls, pottery, shallow mortar, ???

This is the thin black/orange piece.
IMG_8793.JPG

Seems to thick for pottery. Maybe stained stone? I find a lot of thing with this black & orange on it.

Groove is like a perfect 90 degree angle.

These bottom pictures are supposed to go with the scrapper pix above, don't know what happened.

I believe your (pottery) is just rocks. Your pointy rocks might be Gravers. Your small game stones look like stick balls which are the inner core of the ball used in the game. Your black one might be a game stone or it could be one of those rocks the dinos used in their stomachs like a gizzard stone. They get polished like that. The shallow mortar I believe is natural. Scrapers and knifes and then points. Some might be cores. Thats about all I know. I have some Gravers if you want to see them. Nice finds, rock

Please show me some pix of your gravers. The black stone would not be from a Dino, we didn't have them in this area (would be cool if it was though!). Guess the "pottery" would be stone stained by plant decay and the red clay we have here?

Guess I'm gonna have to dig out all my pieces by the pool. I've picked up so much stuff I thought was probably nothing, but it was still neat. Need to re evaluate it all. Thanks for the pix!

I was told that most dont pick them up due to the fact that they think they are just rocks. I took them to the artifact ID near me. I have more but thats enough examples. Some of these are Awls as well.
