Great looking point. I think the deer would've been safe from me for a while after finding that.

It looks like a speckled or mottled rhyolite to me too. I would call that a real nice classic example of a Kirk stemmed or Kirk serrated point. Real nice, and looks to be a 16 pointer, 8 serrations on each side !

Nice point! What color is it? I am 5 hours north of you. Took my kid down there last yr to check out a school man what a drive Im glad she didn't pick that one.

It does appear to be Rhyolite or some felsic composition close to it.

A couple photos in natural light from different angles would definitely help my guess is it's a nice grayish colored flint and the white specks are patina

There is all different types of flint in GA. I have even found some that has tiny holes in it like slag but is a flint.
