Actually, on the reverse side there is some thinning around the tip. I wonder if this was going to be a point that they never finished....?

I'd call it a flake. Flakes were often used as tools with no modifications and any wear pattern would show if it was utilized or not.

I keep reading that gravers are Paleo but I would suspect that they were used all thru antiquity. Would you agree?
