Hammerstone?

Hey y'all! Found this stone out in the middle of a large corn field in the NC Piedmont. The end that is missing it's tip appears to be worn down and doesn't appear to have come off in one clean break. Could this be a hammerstone? Didn't find any other stones in this field of the same material.

Don't think it is a hammerstone. But you can be pretty certain that it was carried by the hand of man to the area where you found it. Quartzite river cobble.
