I had a nice outing yesterday with Erick (mytimetoshine) at a un disclosed location in the gold country that we had both been to previously but not together. We knew it was going to be cold and it was but with no wind and some sunlight here and there and it made it feel not bad. The area we focused on has a lot of flour gold that is panned relatively easy and to my surprise I ended up with a nice take at the end of the day. It was great getting back out there with Erick, its been a while for sure. We spent the day sampling here and there for hot spots, I ended up breaking a shard of bedrock while prying that flew up and almost into my eye! It could have turned out bad, I was lucky.. It was a nice outing and some great scenery!

Had a blast Jerry. Sorry the stretch i picked wasnt that great. We would have done better in my last spot. Your drone is awesome. I was surprised how easy it looked to fly. His setup was like a video game. At one point i hiked far ahead and the drone was flying up and down the canyon. With Jerry out of sight all of a sudden the drone shows up and lands on the berock next to me that wasnt even level and surrounded my deep pools of water. I was like hes not going to try to land... yep and stuck it. 10,10,10 was my vote.. Damn now i have to buy one, super cool and so valuable for prospecting.

Scary moment when the bedrock poped up and caught you. That could have been bad. Just goes to show how quick thing can go sideways out in gold country. Cant wait for the next trip!

I had a blast as well and your spot wasn't bad at all I have no complaints. You know me I'm always looking for the big payoff rather the for sure steady that this spot is very good at producing. I have pulled a few bigger pieces from there like I kept saying while in search for more.. Like you said if we can just get the sluices going... And for sure just the sand at that one spot would have to produce close to 1/2 ounce at least a yard at least..

Awesome country there! Good gold man!

Thanks Johnny, indeed beautiful and full of gold!

I tried to get out today, the plan was get back up to the honey hole mine but looks like I'll be denied access for a while by mother nature. I tried, frickin sent it down the road, then noticed the snow was getting deeper and I was going down hill... decided to turn around and glad I did cuz I hardly made it out of there. I decided to try and make it down to paradise as that location is much lower. to my surprise i was stopped by snow AGAIN!! almost made it over the divide there but it became too deep.. Looks like i'll have to giver er some time to thaw lol.

I made it up to the claim with Casey yesterday to retrieve mining equipment we had left there this summer. We knew it was not going to be easy or fun and had been putting it off for a while but we didn't want to have to worry about it up there this season. We have other locations that could possibly be good candidates to high bank so the stuff needed to be moved. We had hoped to use the side by side to retrieve it but in the end we ended up using our motorcycle trailers and while it worked for the most part, Casey broke the mounting hardware on his first trip up, so I had to do most of the hauling which luckily I was able to do without breaking mine. It took me four 2 way trips total to pull everything out, that little Honda 200 putted up like a little tractor pulling the pump, hoses and high banker and misc other tools and stuff..

We made it home, everything was cleaning and accounted for and now our focus can be back on getting some gold. The snow has melted enough I believe for us to return to some of our other spots/projects and hopefully be on some good gold soon, that some chores have been taken care of..

Four two way trips says you moved a lot of gear, I've done 3 two way trips using a backpack so either method is a lot of work. The NFAR is still running ~ 2300 cfs +/- 300 cfs day and night time swings with temps of 60 to 54 day and 35 to 29 night. 2300 CFS is a high number but then there was a total snow fall (so far) of 247" so likely there's a good amount left to melt. At some point it will actually be time to be out there working. Glad the move went well..............63bkpkr

Same issues for me today Jerry. Wee bit too much white even for the 'Yota 4WD. After we stopped and dug it out the second time, enough was enough. I'll try again in a few weeks.

I had the pleasure of meeting up with Herb (63bkpkr) and Jarrod (Goldwasher) yesterday in Coloma to catch up and talk gold and shoot the breeze. Herb is on a expedition currently in the hills trying to locate a past prospect and I was nearby so it worked out great for us both. Jarrod Lives not far at all from where we met and showed us first had one of his amazing recent finds. We talks for hours and I really enjoyed the company, lots of interesting stories and reminiscing over maps and photos..

Herb and Jarrod thanks for the meet up!

he seemed to be in pretty good shape and not pushing himself... too much.

We are having some pretty cold nights already and he's a bit higher up than me I'm at almost 2k feet

Jerry is he keeping in touch with you when He can get service?
