Thanks for noticing.

Not too many have.....
{seen the Star of Lima 1659 & 1660 eight escudo.

I went to Madrid to see them back in 1990.
I also got a friend of mine in Peru - Eduardo Dargent Chamot
and a business associate Pancho vice' to fund and institute a research
effort by the University of Lima to authenticate the minting of these specimens.

The people who write the history books are the people who win!
One has to survive to tell a story.....

In that process sometimes a few folks get pissed off
but that is better than getting pissed on!

These specimens are without doubt the most rare escudos
ever to be minted during the Spanish Colonial Period.....

I guess the Jupiter Sghipwreck may be a little more significant
than Dan Sewick may have surmised.

Luis, we got the chance to work for a few hours Saturday afternoon. We've spent a lot of time on yearly maintenance on the boat lately. We blew a few holes and enjoyed several hours of diving...this is a coin we found on one of those dives, I believe the date is certainly 1652. Just thought you'd find it interesting, she'll be a beauty when she's all cleaned up.

That coin is pretty just the way it is!

At least, on that side.

Unfortunately, many of the coins without much
encrustation - also have one bad side.

If the wieght is way under, say 23 grams I would have
second thoughts about cleaning it at all.

Some of the weight is the encrustation itself and you just may lose more
detail....

Just an opinon....

right after it was defined in 1922.

Please note the beginnings of Jupiter Beach Park.
The walk way is about where the walk way is today!
