Getting ready to buy a new Sand Shark and trying to figure out which size coil to get. I'm thinking the larger coil obviously will cover a little bit more area but won't it also cause more drag when sweeping it through the water? And does one of them really detect that much deeper than the other?? Will be using it to piddle around at beaches and lakes. Any and all opinions are appreciated. Thanks!

If you are referring to freshwater beaches and lakes I would get the Tiger Shark. It is plenty deep and has discrimination so you will dig less trash. Notice I said less, you will still find your fair share of trash.

When I inquired about the Tiger Shark and which coil to get I was told by people who had them to get the 10" over the 8" and would assume the same with the Sand Shark.
Sand Shark-salt water
Tiger Shark-fresh water
