Plan A: The day began by scouting a supposed cannon emplacement, which turned out to be an old hand-dug pond. It had a semi-circle rock wall around part of the pond, making it look a little like a cannon emplacement. Then we, VOL1266-X and I, went to Plan B. We decided to return to a Union Infantry camp that we had hunted before. We had only been there about 5 minutes when I found a G.S. Eagle button and within another 5 minutes, VOL found GS Eagle button, also. I wound up finding two G.S. Eagle Buttons, a button back, knapsack hook, carved .69 caliber 3-ringer, .69 caliber round ball, a chewed .58 caliber bullet, and several pieces of melted lead. The .69 caliber 3-ringer was notched around the bottom. It was called a whistler because when it was shot, it made a whistling sound. Thanks for looking.

Plan B was a good option. Nice relics to add to your collection and I don't want to hear more whining about having to buy another wooden display box. WTG.

MM, Dman did not know this but before he started hunting with me I did find an IH with a non readable date. The hill was an old tobacco patch and I guess the fertilizer did it in. HH.
