I managed to scan a picture of the copper I found. I got this at a site in northern hampshire county; dating back to at least 1844 according to cadestral maps of the area. depth was roughly 4-5 inches. This coin was minted during the reign of Alexander I, 1801-1825. This is easily one of the best sites I've found, but very difficult to get to. It took me 3 tries to find this site, and the terrain is very rough.

believe it or not, that is cleaned up. That stuff that looks like dirt is the remnants of copper cladding. The soil isn't kind to coppers here.
