Can you say "Banner"?

If this isnt a Banner I wont be coming any closer. Found this coin in a soccer field this. I have found a couple large cents there; including a no date flowing hair. Never thought I would be finding silver as well. Thought it was a reale but now not sure. The date is plain enough to see;1768.. Havent cleaned; a little scared too.Any help identifying the coin and possible value would be greatly appreciated. Sorry ; I can get any better pics with my camera. Thanks

Steve

A Spanish colonial silver coin, minted in Potosí in 1768, featuring the columns and the hemispheres.

Not Potosi...Mexico. "O over M" is the Mexico City mint mark...

Re: Can you say "Banner"?

It was down about 7 1/2 inches. Showed up as a qtr. Surprised I picked up it because I had the bulleyes coil on my xlt. This coil is for trashy areas and not so much for depth.
I found the coin in a soccer field. You never know what youll find in them.

Congrats on a nice Milled Pillar Spanish coin. I found a 1752 1 Reale earlier in the year and it was a rush for sure. :hello2:

:o Congratulations Steve, that's a great find, for our area especially. What size was it, the 8 reale or smaller? Cinci has a long history, you just never know what you'll find. :icon_thumright: I'd vote Banner
