great find. To bad about the gouges. Never tried it before, but I think if that were mine, I would figure out a way to re-tone it or lessen the gouges some other way. There has to be a way.

Nice find! I feel your pain...I shovel kissed the first 8 reale I found...but it really didn't bother me too badly.

Bandb1, wow what a nice find. I also dug a Spanish II Reales today. I know how you must feel. :wink: Congrats on that amazing find. Any Spanish coin dug in USA is a great find. :notworthy:

Thanks all for looking. When I found it my heart litterally skipped a beat, have to
admit though my joy was somewhat tempered when I saw the dings. But
it is certainly sweet to have found a real oldie. Keep swinging never know
what might pop up.
