Nice
Your Mass button dte 1814 to 1820 or so. The other button is older and may date back into the 1600's Hopefully someone who know more about that type of button will help out.

thanks everybody for the great comments, and thanks vayank54 for putting a time period on the buttons, very interesting that the little button could be that old :icon_thumright: Dean

I'm two minds on it. The drilled shank is late 17th Century, but the front looks more modern. So late 17th C with 80% confidence :icon_thumright:

Nice Mass button! I went through my books and I think the convex button is early to mid 1700s. If it were a doublet type, then I would say 1600s but just not right for one, and there were plenty of integral drilled shank type buttons in the early to mid 1700s, especially ones of Spanish origin. So, early to mid 18th century with 80% confidence! :tongue3:

Don

its a bit different from the norm, if Spanish then that explains a lot. I would be happy with early 1700s as I thought it very late 1600s :icon_thumright:
1690s-1750s with 50% confidence :D
