To loud to metal detect

went to the WW2 airbase today to find a penny and thats all i found. A F-18 kept circling the airport real close over head. Something wuz strange cause they never fly that low and that slow. All i know wuz it was so loud i couldnt hear my M.D. I waited and got back to work but i think the site is hunted out after almost 7 years of hunting. After i got home i learned that F-18 had electrical problems and was trying to land. Glad he made the strip and not where i was.
