Cabin Fever has definitely set in here, so I decided to head down to the local mall today to see what treasures the snow piles held! We had a pretty good thaw here earlier this week and the snow piles have melted down quite a bit. Had a mini-me helper with me as well, though she spent most of the time sliding down the hills as opposed to hunting with me! lol! :laughing7:

Not a whole lot of exciting finds to report, just some junk jewellery, an American Jeans tag and a lonely Canadian Penny! Only four more weeks until the family and I head for Jamaica.
I contacted the hotel we're staying at to get permission to hunt their beach, and they said, "whatever makes you happy sir."

I haven't heard those words spoken since my wedding night! :laughing9:

Happy hunting everybody!
Dave

Thanks very much Scott. Have you been out to your "town" lately or has the weather kept you away? :icon_scratch: Yeah, the big bolt had me wondering as well where it had come from. This mall is plowed with a number of those big Cat Loaders and John Deere Tractors, so maybe it came off one of them.

Happy Hunting Scott,
Jamaica Dave :icon_pirat: :laughing7:

I'll tell you something Herbie. . . they're both monkeys, but I'd never exchange them for boys! As my daughter likes to say . . . "Girls rule and boys drool!" :laughing7:

Thanks Herbie,

No matter the finds, any day out in the sunshine swinging that magic wand and spending time with the little ones is a great day in my book! Congrats on the finds you did make Dave and on top of that, your a penny richer! lol Have fun on that VACATION. After this winter I'm sure you need it.

Happy Hunting

Hello Paul :hello:

Thanks very much for your kind words. To be honest my wife's the penny pincher, I just love spending our money on antiques and MD stuff! :laughing7: I call her "the voice of reason", because I don't use commonsense when it comes to saving for a rainy day!

My daughter wants me to take her and a friend tobogganing again this afternoon, but I've got other things I have to do first. I'll probably end up taking her though, because you're only young once right?! Hope the snows let up a bit for you in Oklahoma?

I'll dig a hole in the beach in Jamaica in your honor! :icon_pirat:

Snow's all gone here now, Dave. Been basking in the low 70s into the mid 80s. Rained almost two inches in 1/2 an hour Friday. Maybe sever thunderstorms again today. Temperature right now is 63. Sure beats that minus 17 we had here two weeks ago! I got out yesterday for two hours and brought home a whopping 14 cents. lol I work cheep. Have fun with the kids today and I'll email you later.

I met a friend for lunch the other day, and as we were talking in the parking lot, I remembered a similar thread a while back about snow pile treasure hunting.

Since we were standing where the snow piles had been, I looked down and found 7 cents in about a minute.

Hey Dave, thanks for your comments. The Canadian Penny was modified about ten years ago to make it easier for the sight impaired to identify it.

Hey Paul, that's .07 cents an hour! ;D That's not too shabby a pay scale for just having fun eh! :laughing7: Lots of rain here last night and most of it's in my basement now! Heading back down below freezing tonight and for the rest of the week.

HH,
Dave
