Nice finds & you might want to check out the 42 dime & see if it is a 42 over 41
I just noticed that the 42 is a s mint mark the 42 & 42d had over dates.
The 43 nickel if it is the double eye varity it is worth about $25 there was also a 43 over 42 that is about $50.

The one with the buffalo isn't silver, but nickel. The other one of the same size is 35% silver, 56% nickel, 9% other. The 1943 Washington quarter and the 1943 Mercury dime (doesn't contain mercury) are both 90% silver.

Nice finds.
The Quarter is the same as 25 pence.
The dime is the same as 10 pence.
The nickle is the same as 5 pence.

George Washington is on the Quarter.
Thomas Jefferson is on the nickle. The large "P" on the back means that it was made partially out of silver due to WWII.
The Mercury dime is the dime before the current dime that we have today.

A good rule of thumb right now for American silver coins that are 90% silver is that they are worth about 25X face value for their silver.
So the quarter would be worth about $6.25, and the dime about $2.50.

Hope that helps!

the buff nickel must be made of better quality materials than ours when i find our old copper nickel coins they are in a horrible state
and ours are not as old unless they were a recent loss so a dime is smaller than a nickel but worth more

Great finds, loud ed! You've found more American silver than I have this year and I live in California.

I think you might be right about a recent loss. That buff is in super nice condition, and I don't think its been in the ground too long. It should be a dingy reddish-brown.

Looks like some coins brought over to England during WWII. I agree, the buffalo nickel doesn't look like it was in the ground long. Here are some I dug this weekend. They usually turn a reddish black.

hmm, 1942 silver quarter, 1942 silver dime, that's my birth year! As March is my birth month, please mail them to me as a birthday present! JUST KIDDING! Lovely coins! Sooner or later, I'll be digging up my own 1942 coins, newbie at detecting. Andi
