Hello again all. As I type this I am so sore from all the walking in the hot sun today... and I think I have sunburn too - also tons of scratches and puncture marks from those damn thorns. :-\

Between work, college, and detecting, I don't have much time to take pictures of my finds and post stuff here. I have been on a roll lately with finding stuff. So far this year I have found about 60 buttons, 6 Large Cents, 5 Colonial Largies, 1 Half Cent, 4 Indian Heads, 1 Half Dime, a 160 year old gun, tons of other relics, and of course boxes full of junk! The metal detecting gods have been good to me! :notworthy:

The following pictures are from the last few weeks from 2 different sites, one of which I found today... and she was a virgin! I can't wait to get back to her. :laughing7:

The one oblong relic you see at the bottom is half of an old stirrup (thanks for helping me ID it on the What Is It forum (you know who you are!)). It's probably close to 200 years old. At first I thought it was a spoon for a very special individual... LOL! I can't seem to find the other piece. :(

If anyone knows what the button with the anchor is... please let me know? (it's really tiny.) Maybe British?

Anyways, on with the pics... Happy Hunting all.

It was 85 here today... it was supposed to thunderstorm but it was clear skies instead, with the giant burning ball of fire searing my sandy skin!

Quite frankly, I prefer 40 degrees for MD than 85!

Duuuuude, Where's my Trowel??? :headbang: That site looks awesome! Those buttons are 100% better than any from the place down the road from there!

The "A" button is a sweet artillery button. If it was dug on a DIV dig, it would be "Best Finds" of 2011 material. What does the back look like?

I can't wait to check the site out with you.

Good luck in NE this weekend. I hope you dig a 1652 Pine Tree Shilling!

Funny you should mention the 1652 PTS... I was just thinking about digging one today! LOL

The back is... questionable. All I did was simply dip all the buttons in water and they look like that. The back has a light layer of sandy crust... but I can see some letters. Should I even mess with it??

Nice stuff! That brass stirrup would have been a real beauty if whole. A shame about the half dime, I have never seen a silver coin affected like that on dry land.

Thanks. Yes I was greatly disappointed in the condition of the silver... aw well, next one will look better!
