Finally snuck in a short hunt

Reid and I made it back to a local site after we finally got enough rain to soften up the top 2-3" of the ground. That's about all the depth we needed as we were hitting a spot with very heavy iron with a few relics thrown in at shallow depths. Didn't do too bad considering we've been pounding this site for a very long time. I'm not sure what that silver gilted piece is that's shown in the close-up. Any ideas?

Very nice Finds Bill,
You seem to have that act of staying in the oldies as you have shown us again. Are those two brads in the top left hand corner? I've found that style at some old sites.Your what is it looks like something I've seen before too if it comes to me I'll pass it along to you.

The silver-plated piece looks like it might have been attached to a dining table centrepiece or possibly a punchbowl? The decoration looks to be mid-19th century.

That bullet is cool!
