Excellent mosaic! Was it found like that in the floor of the villa? :laughing7:
I too like the Pelta Mount. The links did not seem to work for me but I believe it is because the link is not fully written out. I'll have to work it through the long way! Just letting you know in case someone else asks.
You have some great finds. Nice to have access to such history.

Seen a few of those mounts but yet to find one :hello2:

Roman Silver is a great day :headbang: , the site I did yesterday has yet to produce one, but I think it may one day. Problem is the coin spread is across 3 fields, over 1/2 mile square, its the largest spread out site we have found. (already picked at by Night Hawks :( )

Hello mate !
According to Wikipedia ... Faustina born September 21 about 100, died October or November 140. :read2:
Here the Roman sites are also very large but that is devido moved to the village for security reasons and need for water.
This place has three Roman villas separate for two KM approximately along a river. and three are currently occupied by vineyards. were actually partially excavated during the 20th century but later covered and destroyed by the plow. Feel sorry for walking through this field and see the bones of the Romans scattered everywhere and broken tiles in the area .... and so on. :-\

and now a brief explanation of all this, for some can understand:
that what many people do not realize is that the Roman villas were composed of four different parts and isolated:

1 - Part Urbana (where lived the Romans and had the ooms to sleep.)

2 - The part rustica (where they kept and processed foods ... a kind of farm)

3 - The thermal part (where they bathed in three different pools .. first in a pool with cold water, then another pool of warm water and then another with hot water)

4 - The Necropolis (it was a cemetery near the house, the Romans lived with their deceased) ... this kind of life was motibo that differentiated the barbarians from the Romans.
For these reasons the Roman villas are so great .
Here's one of those places today .... in red is the best field at the moment 15 Roman coins in the last six hours of game .... the stadium is now the Romans did not use lawn. ;D
sorry for my bad English .

Stunning finds, they could be Gold there :icon_thumleft: Faustina Wife of Antoninus Pious Died AD141, the same coins come from my Villa site, I have had two, Wife and Daughter...you should get more :headbang:
