This morning I hit my new spot with some results, 1839 LC and a SHIPS COLONIES & COMMERCE Token. This afternoon I decided to go back and search a little more. I am glad that I did !!! Screamer signal and only about 4" deep. I could right away see the date of 1776 and knew that I had my first Spanish Silver :headbang: She is a little rough like maybe it has seen a fire :dontknow: Dont care.....I have freekin' SPANISH SILVER !!!

I have included a group shot of todays coin finds :icon_thumleft:

Woo Hoo, congrats on your first Spanish Silver! I found my first last year, one of my most memorable moments.

You skipped the half real and went right for the one real too! Awesome!!

Thanks for the ID :icon_thumleft: I was wondering if it was a half or a one Reale.

Thanks for setting me straight...... again  It is a good thing that there was no one in the woods when I found the coin. The way I hooted and hollard, they would have thought that bigfoot was near ;D

And truly Spanish, not Mexican. Mexican assayer's initials would be FM; not shown on this coin.
.9027 fine; congrats !!
Don.......

Is the only difference between the Spanish and Mexican coins the assayer's initials? Is one "better" than the other?
Now that I have found one of my own I guess that it is time to learn a little more about them.
