Bullet I.D.? From my older Post.

I had found a few bullets on my last hunt that i did not know what kind they were. I looked on the Civil war Outpost website and i thought that they looked like a .44 cal. Colt bullet on the left and a Burnside on the right. And a picture of a complete Burnside for comparison. If you can give me any help that would be great thanks.

Looks to me like you are on the right track. You need to provide some measurements and Cannonballguy will be able to tell you exactly what you have.

Look's like a MM#482,Johnson and Dow .44 on the left.

The smaller bullet is between 11/16" and 3/4" long and 3/8" wide at base. its 1/4" from base to top of first ring. (i dont have a caliber so im just using a ruler). the larger bullet is 3/4" long and 9/16" wide at base of bullet but 11/16" wide at brass. is 1/4" from base to top of first ring. hope these measurements help, thank you.
