Amazing two days!
Just found my first sword belt buckle and sabre guard today!! Amazing that neither one had any damage in a plowed field! First few photos are finds from yesterday, then combined finds from 6/26 & 6/27. I think my gf wants to kill me because I sat down last night and was holding the buckle for about 2 hours just imagining the soldier wearing it and how he might have lost it Thanks for looking.. Jeff
last photo is Maj. Gen. David S. Hunter wearing the same type buckle and carrying sabre with the same guard.

thanks! digging that buckle was the last thing I expected yesterday... it was the first CW target of the day and when I got the signal hitting 92, I jokingly told my buddy Andrew "hey I got a silver dollar" I can't repeat what I shouted when I pulled it out of the hole, I saw the back first and thought no way... definitely a rush

yes, the hook is a sword hanger and the piece you're referring to i think is a wick housing for an oil lantern.. thanks!
