Found my 14th gold coin last Thursday night. 1849 D $5. A friend and I had been researching from old traveller and stage routes in our state. In addition to this beauty, I also got an 1825 Bust half. My friend got a 177x Spanish one reale, and a 1911 s barber dime from this site. Relics from this site are also shown here. Lots of fun!

Fantastic gold Coin, and all the other finds are great. I think Crusader and his Dad have found 20 individual gold coins. Either way 14 total Gold coins in unbelievable!!!

Tom, congrats!! I am definitely envious. I agree that hunting on the west coast probably puts you in a better environment to find gold coins. For 2 reasons; the first being the fact you mentioned about people moving westward and trading in monies for larger denominations and secondly- the gold rush supplied california with an abundance of gold and so many coins were minted there that your odds of finding a gold coin are greatly increased if you are hunting in that area. I am not at all taking away your hard work and determination by any means. Ive always said, if you want to find gold "go west young man." Again congratulations on another banner find.

LGS, are you referring to the T'net member/poster who goes by the name "CRUSADER"? Ie.: the "crusader" from England, right? Ok, how about if the question is limited the USA hunters: Does anyone know of a USA hunter, besides the guys who found and worked the Utah Camp Floyd, that has 14 or more? Aside of coins mounted in jewelry and aside from caches.

That is just really incredible Tom and really encouraging. We're just a couple hours south of you and the booty is farther and fewer between. But ohhh Tom, you give us hope!! There's definitely things we can do. Good detective work there. And, man, I'd sure love some of those old beauties. None of this fiat, paper stuff! I'm very happy for you.
