Hit an area down the street that is a small lake that shows up on maps back to the 1700's. Hunted just on one side and just stayed up along the dry dirt. I put the 5" coil back on the Minelab Sovereign GT and was using Ron's 180 meter. Here is what I found:

Here is the crap:

And close ups of the rest. Found a GM key that says "Your Key to Great Values" on one side and "Briggs and Stratton Milwaukee" on the other.

I believe this is the end of an OLD folding ruler or some other sort of tool. You can see the pins where it held the pieces of wood (since rotted away). I have seen plenty of ones similar (my grandfather had ALOT of antique tools when I was a kid) that were rulers but, never one this thin. Looks like it has some lines on the metal but don't see any other numbers or markings.

Here are some examples of what I think it is:

Also found some clad, a .44 caliber casing and a lead "weight"? that is pained brown and has a cut all the way through one side.

Seeing as you found it near the lake, it is more likely from a folding fan- there is bound to be more old stuff near there!
